Hey there. I'm Janelle, the owner and director of Olive Speech & Language Therapy. I am a California licensed and clinically certified speech-language pathologist by the American Speech-Hearing-Hearing Association (ASHA). I'm a southern California native and earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University San Marcos.

I have extensive experience in a variety of settings, including pediatric private practice, schools, hospitals, outpatient brain injury clinics, and in-home early intervention. I am a highly qualified clinician who is committed to providing exceptional services to address your child's communication needs. Additionally, I am passionate about providing inclusive, culturally sensitive, and neurodivergent affirming care with every child and family I have the pleasure working with.

Choosing self-pay for speech therapy can offer several benefits:

  • It might actually be cheaper. Self-pay may cost less for high deductible plans or out-of-network. Insurance carriers set a negotiated rate for deductible payments. Providers may offer a lower self-pay rate, which is not applied to the deductible. It saves money for those who don't meet their deductible or have few medical expenses.

  • It allows for greater flexibility and personalized treatment plans, as providers are not limited by insurance company guidelines. This can include frequency, and duration of services. Some insurances companies max out at a certain number of sessions.

  • Self-pay may allow faster access to care than those relying on insurance. Self-pay clients do not need to wait for approval before starting services.

No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimates

As of January 1, 2022, state-licensed or certified health care providers must provide a Good Faith Estimate of healthcare charges to every new and continuing client who is either uninsured or is not planning to submit a claim to their insurance for the healthcare services they seek.

We used Janelle's services from the time our little one was 18 months old until he was three years old. When we began speech therapy, our little one couldn't say any words. Gradually, after starting therapy with Ms. Janelle, he began speaking more and more. After a few months, he was saying many words, and his sentences were improving as well. You would not be able to tell he has a speech delay at all! My son was always excited for our sessions and always sad when she had to leave. She made treatment fun and entertaining. She always involved us and even assigned us homework and things to practice during the week until the next appointment. She is so dedicated, and you can tell by the way she interacts with the little ones that she loves what she does.
